It is a variation on the Icelandic song "Íþróttaálfurinn" which was Íþróttaálfurinn's theme from the original 1996 stage show Áfram Latibær.
"Welcome to LazyTown" was included as the opening track to both the US soundtrack LazyTown and the UK soundtrack LazyTown - The Album.
Versions
As with "Bing Bang", a different version was recorded for the episode LazyTown's Surprise Santa.
This version, titled "Welcome to LazyTown - Christmas version", is included on the UK soundtrack LazyTown - The New Album as a bonus track.
Lyrics
Welcome to LazyTown
A place where you'll wanna stay
You'll meet Robbie with his rotten plan
And Sportacus saving the day
Stephanie is new in town
And soon she and Ziggy are friends
With Pixel, Stingy and Trixie, too
They're gonna have a blast together.
Go go go get up LazyTown
It's the start of a brand new day
Things are upside-down here in LazyTown
Adventure's just a moment away...
