Heh... I do wonder what made them go in the puppet direction, but I don't think it was that.

Re: I FIGURED OUT WHY THEY USED PUPPETS IN THE SHOW

I think the creative team was inspired by Fraggle Rock and the Muppets. Fraggle was even designed to be an international show just like LazyTown. In addition to the puppets, there were human segments filmed as well. Green screens were used at certain parts. Then there are the similarities in direction between certain LazyTown eps and 80's Muppets specials. Likely Icelanders watched them. Probably wanted to try their hand at this sort of thing, while telling a new story in their own kinda way.
Everybody needs a little time to play around. Have to heat it up, better burn it up. Cool it down.

He's taller than you would think. He's about 5'9. That's not short, under 5'6 is officially short. Over 6'2 is officially tall. So he's average, the middle range.

they could hire small kids for the roles instead but maybe they were just afraid of the bunch of annoying brats on set

    I think Stefan's height doesn't help his case. He's about 6'2 :o

That would make sense, considering that puppets seem to be fairly popular in Iceland.
