    Heh... I do wonder what made them go in the puppet direction, but I don't think it was that.

        I think the creative team was inspired by Fraggle Rock and the Muppets. Fraggle was even designed to be an international show just like LazyTown. In addition to the puppets, there were human segments filmed as well. Green screens were used at certain parts. Then there are the similarities in direction between certain LazyTown eps and 80's Muppets specials. Likely Icelanders watched them. Probably wanted to try their hand at this sort of thing, while telling a new story in their own kinda way.

          He's taller than you would think. He's about 5'9. That's not short, under 5'6 is officially short. Over 6'2 is officially tall. So he's average, the middle range.

            they could hire small kids for the roles instead but maybe they were just afraid of the bunch of annoying brats on set :xd:

                That would make sense, considering that puppets seem to be fairly popular in Iceland.
