Mystery of the Pyramid: an unfitting finale?

It was a decent episode but as the final episode ever, pretty underwhelming. Did they know it would be the final episode? How would you have ended the show?

Mystery of the Pyramid: an unfitting finale?

Yeh. They knew since 2011. Personally I think it was a very good episode but think that Sportacus wasn't in it enough. Being a huge fan and friend of Magnus', I don't like that, in Season 4, they got rid of him more. Robbie was very good. Stefn is a great actor, and so they appropriately put him in those disguises. Chloe was awesome. It was a very good episode. Overall, it is better than a lot, it is up there with my favourites ever. It was really good.

In terms of being the last episode ever, I agree with you, they could have made a bigger deal. Stephanie could have gone off to dance school, etc. I think that they should have wrapped things up.

What I think happened was that the production department invested a lot of key in the final episode as there is a lot there that costs a lot. Pyramids, etc.

I think Magns was and is, eternally optimistic so he felt that ending the show wasn't right. He is optimistic about a 5th season, and so doesn't want to end it yet. Look at the end of season 2 in 2007, they didn't end the show then, and LTE went bankrupt for goodness sake.

As far as we are concerned, The Mystery of the Pyramid is the last episode. We must consider it to be that, because as far as we are concerned, there will be no 5th season. So, it is fitting, that they ended on a brilliant episode, where we can finally, say goodbye to the beloved characters, town, crew and Magns Scheving, forever.

This is the end of LazyTown.

Mystery of the Pyramid: an unfitting finale?

I've never met him. I was exaggerating, but I have been in a lot of contact with him recently. We have been emailing and sending letters to each other.

You should join up with Stingy. Then I'll maybe also give a quick visit. It's just across the pond anyways.

We should arrange some sort of GetLazy meetup, at Magnus' restaurant of course.

Yeah! For us, it's not that far. I'm sure Magnus and Hrefna would love hundreds of people turning up for lunch!

In season one and two they ended with a Sportacus episode, and I was hoping they did the same in season 3 and 4.

Yes. I wish. He should have left saying that his work fixing it up was done. But, like I said Magnus is eternally optimistic about the future. ?

I don't think it was meant for an end to LazyTown, just as another adventure.

But they knew in advance that it was the end. It could be like Friends. Round things up on Season 4

Re: Mystery of the Pyramid: an unfitting finale?

Well, obliviously they knew that it would be the last episode of season 4, but they didn't have any idea what would happen after that. The complete selloff to Turner happened after the episode was completed, and even if they had known ahead of time that that was happening, nobody would have known what they were going to do with the IP.

LazyTown operates a lot like a cartoon, and there are 2 ways that cartoons usually end their run. They either don't have any kind of formal ending, or they have a movie. I would not be surprised to see LazyTown continue some day in some fashion, maybe just as a final movie type of thing, wrapping things up like you want, even if it takes 5 or 10 or more years to get that. I also would not be surprised if it never did get revived.

Re: Mystery of the Pyramid: an unfitting finale?

I wanna know why the last episode that aired has to be the finale. There is no real continuity except characters, and plots never last longer than two contiguous episodes. Don't think you could place any episodes except the first one on a timeline according to plot. Maybe the Mystery of the Pyramid aired last simply because it had the most CG work left to finish.

Wasn't the original final episode storyline Mayor Meanswell saving the day instead of Sportacus, or have I misread something and have the wrong context?

The LazyTown exhibit in the morning, Magnus' restaurant in the afternoon and the northern lights* in the evening, how great would that be
(*too lazy to google where you can actually see the northern lights).
