  • Mani Svavarsson Interview With GetLazy (Submissions)

Hey guys, I will be interviewing Mani Svavarsson, the composer for out beloved LazyTown music, on behalf of getlazy soon and I wanted to start this thread to allow you all to recommend questions for him. You can ask any that you want, though I will filter out extremely off-topic or inappropriate questions. If you feel comfortable, please also post your location and name so that it can be used in the interview i.e. "Chris from Colorado, USA asked blah blah blah..".

    Update: Submissions are now closed.

Fantastic! How'd you set this up?

-How, if at all, do you feel your music has evolved over LazyTown's run?
-Has anything in your life inspired any part of a song you've composed?
-How would you spend a day off, if you had one?

I would prefer to omit my name and location, if that's alright.

Okay. Can you confirm this to be the correct pronunciation of your username?

Cool, Thanks for the chance Stingy :)

          Questions:

-When will be released the soundtrack of the series 4?
-Can you tell us the history of at least one of the LazyTown's songs?
-How's working at studio with Chloe?
-Have you thought about composing for Teens (18+years old)?
-What is your reaction to hearing your songs in other languages? (Spanish for example)

              I thought of:
              - When does your autobiography comes out?
              - Tell us more interesting stories behind the songs

He once told me two stories, because I did some remixes, but that's all I got.

January 20, 2011 - Time To Play. [..] Well maybe because this song was my little tribute to Disco .. which I love by the way. Attached is the song I had in mind when I wrote the "Time To Play" song .. not trying to copy it .. but more paying a tribute to it like I said :) (Look out for the walking octaves Disco bass). Thanks for everything you´ve done - you are amazing. Your friend Mani S.

September 6, 2010 - Anything Can Happen. Pooky! This is amazing :) This song was one of the first ones I wrote for the first season. It was one of those songs where there was no effort - and the whole song almost wrote itself. The whole thing took about one hour. I wrote it in the morning - the lyrics where made during lunch break - and Julianna sang it in the afternoon. In this episode we only had room for a short song - but I´ve always wanted to make it longer. xox moon
Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

Does he have skype? If so do you need an appointment to interview him? Or can you just ask for an interview?

                      - what kind of music do you prefer in private?
                      - did you ever consider writing a song for the ESC?
                      - what do you think about the remixes of your songs?
                      - which language of dubbed songs you like the most?
                      - are there any non released LT songs?
                      - if you could pick a famous singer for one of your songs which one would it be?
                      - I know you're playing keyboards...are there other instruments you master?
                      - do you think that LazyTown should be continued?

                      Henry from Berlin

                      thanks

                        Re: Mani Svavarsson Interview 2015

I know there are better questions in my head, but my tivo is full as usual, and all the stuff I've recorded is 60 mins+ each, so by the light of my torch I'm repeating a cycle of ~ recording, cat napping, changing the disc, which is dumb as I've a tonne to do today, but oh well.

                        (Rephrase if worthwhile/delete where applicable)
-Has LZT completely ended? Or has LZT as we've known it it ended?
-(Working on the assumption LZT is dead)Did the cast and crew take home any key props to display at home? Who got what? Is Robbie's orange chair in Stefan's living room?

-Are there LZT song demo's? Did you sing on them and that's what the cast followed, or did the cast sing the lyrics over the instrumentals?
-Do you know if there will be an Icelandic CD of songs for seasons 3 and 4?
-Do you prefer Vinyl to CDs, or vice versa? digital music? or all of the above?
-Any LZT songs on your music playing device of choice? Or do you consider the songs to be part of the job, and so you "leave them at work" so to speak.

                        Alison, England UK.
Getur einhver annar verið Glanni ? það bara passar ekki
Stefan Karl Stefansson, það er enginn eins og þú!

Is very cool and good luck with the interview.

                              Questions:
What is your inspiration to make each song?
How do you feel when you´re making the song to connect with the episode?

Katya Mariette from San Salvador City, El Salvador, Central America.
