LazyTown inspires African Businesses to develop Local Content

Trou Aux Biches After encouraging children to live a health life with his book Go Go Lazy Town, Magns Scheving in 2004 opted to start a television show called Lazy Town to reach out to a larger audience of children in his native Iceland.

The Lazy Town show emphasizes healthy eating, physical fitness, and positive social values like sharing among kids. It first aired in August of 2004, going on to become a global brand bringing him worldwide fame and money.

Born in 1964 in Iceland, Scheving is an award winning athlete, author and now as the Chief Executive Officer of LazyTown Entertainment the owners of Lazy Town franchise is a multimillion entrepreneur.

After failing to get a person willing to take on the role of Lazy Town main act, Sportacus, Scheving casted himself in that role that has been watched in over 100 countries and translated into numerous languages.

I saw "African businesses" and thought "uh oh, does the Prince need more money?"

Think I remember seeing a photograph on the LZT Facebook page of an African class with red LZT t-shirts, the show gets around! makes me think of Richard Gere in an interview, he said he was walking through some far off jungle and a tribesman shouted out a character name to him! and we'd probably all be Pinky and the Brain's slaves if they had access to Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

hehe... Nigeria seems to dominate the African news a lot... especially with their 419 scams.

But there's a lot more going on here than just Nigeria!
