There's a Julianna Mauriello in the ban list, long before my time though.

          By the way, welcome :)
Her fans are perverts so I can't blame her. Of course, many of those people have managed to get themselves banned from this forum because of their antics.

Julianna couldn't take the heat so she got out of the kitchen. She got into this acting business and LazyTown gave her attention at age 12. That's a very young age and obviously she wasn't prepared for it.

I believe she could have a good singing or acting career if she had better mental mechanisms for dealing with the creepers that come with the territory of being an actress.

And - as it has already been said - she hates us anyway.

We are a fandom truly lost.
All it takes is one brief YouTube video.

She definitely did best LT forum+women curiosity(no offence)= JRM in GL
what do you guys think her reaction was like ?
Oh, it certainly wasn't this forum alone that did it.

One Google image search for "Julianna Mauriello" with safe search turned off will tell you why she left the biz. Julianna is but one of many victims consumed by the black hole that is 4chan.

I hope whoever they find for season 3 is better prepared for the onslaught of the worst this species has to offer.

All it would take is a little behind the scenes talk with Pooky since she has some contact with Mani and whoever she's knows from LT. Think Glanni as well. That would be a good tactical move if she were to post on here.

Anyway, I had hoped that I have raised the bar for her fandom but who the hell knows.

With great photoshop skill comes great responsibility. And quicker, easier, more seductive the dark side is.

                  Re: Julianna Mauriello

Lol BGelais, that pic is epic

Despite on what she said in the interview I have a more nuanced view about that. She doesn't hate the older fans outside the group where the show was ment to be for. Hate is such a strong word to use and her character is so sweet I doubt that word is even in her vocabulary. You need to realize that the massive attention she got on the internet made a big impression on her, although she first said in a short article from 2006 where she and her friends were on the internet reading comments and watching video's: "If you can't take it, then you aren't fit for being in show business" and that it's "just the trade-off". Well you can't fool me that it doesn't do something with you. Let's be honest there were and still are sites that are quite shocking and even some video's on youtube (incl comments), she probably refers to in her interview.

Besides that, the interference with her personal life (like David Stodghill did in 2008 to 2009: stealing photo's, stalking her, hacking her account, messing with her friends, make fake channels, spreading rumors about her being lesbian etc.) must have been scary and doesn't do anyone good in trusting other people again (especially older fans). There were the 'old' forums (also GetLazy from the start in it's old form, and the beginning here in 2007 to 2008) with doubtfull intensions, also the World of Julianna forum end 2007/early 2008 got trolling by pervs and sites that is full of photoshopped (child)porn like those 4chan-sites or the early YTMND suggestive gif's.
People sending letters and messages to her with doubtfull content. Even someone from this forum has sent her email messages on her private emailaddress! (I won't say who).

Next, all the fake profiles, anywhere you can think of, but mostly YouTube (from 2006 to even today, with a max. escalation in 2009 with broadwaybaby), other websites (like dont link this) and later Facebook (still about 25 fake FB accounts). I know this was also a big problem, remembering that Anthony (Julianna's brother) actually came here to tell us that all of this was fake, with pictures and all (also from himself to prove it was really him). Also on YouTube, the video's with all kinds of messages to her. Although I don't see a big problem in that because most of them were kinda sweet and harmless.

To get back on the interview: the supportive fans with good intentions are not easy to seperate from the so called weird people when you look at it from a distance, like she does. So it's easier for her to say that she wants to focus on the target group (the children) rather than saying "I want to focus on children and some fans with good intentions". What she said simply rules out all the weird people and don't give them the opportunity to continu under the false pretenses that they are also good. If you look at it that way you see that there was no alternative for her.
The last thing I want to say is that she chose another direction in her life, and you see that with a lot of people. Maybe you can see it as a child dream or hobby in great proportions. I bet she looks at it as a great time, despite all the thing that comes with it, and that she still acts, dance and what more in her own time and space. I do have a hobby too ever since I was a child and I did more with this hobby when I was a child, because I had the time and was motivated. Now things are different and priorities has changed, but it doesn't mean that I don't love this hobby anymore.

It's hard to explain this to people again and again, and it doesn't matter now so much anymore, compare to the situation few years ago. So that is probably why a lot of us don't type this kind of long stories haha ;) But I hope you understand a bit.

                  Sorry for the tl;dr
Any additions or corrections are welcome

This is the topic wherein I requested information on the back story of previous goings-on in Julianna's world in relation to Lazy Town. Now I know. Thank you, Pooky.

I must admit, Julianna was the person who first attracted me to Lazy Town.

First, I was entertaining myself on YouTube by listening to Danny Elfman's main theme for Alice in Wonderland, which led me to songs by Oingo Boingo. While I was listening to "Little Girls," one of the recommended videos had Pedobear, um, interacting with Stephanie. I thought that was inappropriate, but I had no idea of how far things had already gone.

Hahaha the second I saw "Danny Elfman" I immediately knew the next few steps.
