    http://www.switched.com/2007/12/11/w00t ... -the-year/

Its true. The word "w00t" is 2007's word of the year.

Last year it was "truthiness" thanks to Steven Colbert.

Cool, but I'd say it's more like the word of 3 years ago lol. Media is always slow on the uptake.

"W00t"? Is it still considered a word when half the letters in it are actually numbers? At least it wasn't "O RLY?" or "pr0n" or, God forbid, "lolcat".

              I thought w00t was a 2000-ish word.

                Fixed!

Normally I'd say something funnier, but this writers strike is awfully depressing.

Anyway, I guess w00t's not the worst word they could have chosen. Has a nice ring to it, actually.

It integrates perfectly in all languages I know, as a sidenote. Of course, I'm not the picky type, I throw in a "lolwut" and a "roffle" in almost every sentence I utter, no matter the language.

ditto, although i'd say more like 5 years ago.
